About Inconel 718/ 825 Flanges
The nickel-chromium-iron alloys 718 and 825 contain copper, molybdenum, and titanium. Flanges made of DIN 2.4668 and 2.4858 come close to having excellent resistance to corrosive conditions, crevice corrosion, and pitting resistance. These flange grades also provide strong resistance to carburization and oxidizing environments. They are produced using materials of national and international standards. Inconel flanges have excellent tensile strength thanks to age-hardening processes. They also have exceptional weldability and maintain stability at high temperatures. Flanges made of Inconel 718 and 825 also have several advantageous qualities that make them suitable for various applications. Among the best qualities are excellent tensile strength, exceptional dimensional precision, outstanding surface finishes, rugged construction, flexibility resistant to corrosion, extended service lives, affordable maintenance costs, and, most significantly, high toughness. The automotive sector, farming implements, towers, other building features, offshore sectors, bridges, other structural steel plants, and, most crucially, transportation equipment all require UNS N07718 and N08825 flanges. They provide reliable welding connections in fresh water and gasoline tanks and are easy to weld. These pipe flanges are used in several applications across various industries, most notably in the power distribution, oil & gas, and aerospace sectors. These flanges are also utilized in various domestic and commercial applications, such as automotive headers, food manufacturing lines, and mechanical parts.
Properties of Inconel 718/825 Flanges :
- These flanges can resist all forms of chemical reactions. These flanges offer excellent protection against oxidation and corrosion. These flanges are widely utilized in nuclear reactors, cryogenic storage facilities, pollution prevention devices, etc.
- These flanges have a high tensile and yield strength. These 718 flanges have a yield strength of 70000 psi and a tensile strength of 135000 psi.
- Flanges made of Inconel 825 are enhanced with comparable qualities. These flanges offer high resistance to heat, moisture, oxidation, etc.
- These flanges are easy to weld. At 650°–750°C, it exhibits excellent fabrication and intergranular characteristics.
- For instance, the Inconel 825 Flanges’ given good surface polish, will be superior. Additionally, the likelihood of impurities in the alloy is much diminished.
- The alloy’s mechanical characteristics are helpful over a broad temperature range. Therefore, these flanges function as well in temperatures as high as 540°C as in conditions with subzero temperatures.
- The chemistry of the grade has less nickel than other Inconel grades like alloy 718. However, the material can fend off stress-related corrosion cracking, a quality highly valued in various sectors that are subjected to chlorine ions.
