About Stainless Steel 310/ 310S Forged fitting
Stainless Steel 310/310S socket weld fittings are commonly used in high-temperature applications due to their exceptional resistance to corrosion and oxidation. Both grades of stainless steel (310 and 310S) offer excellent strength and durability, making them ideal for use in harsh industrial environments. Stainless Steel 310 is a heat-resistant alloy that offers excellent resistance to oxidation under mildly cyclic conditions. It has good resistance to hot corrosion and is frequently used in furnace parts, heat exchangers, and kiln linings. The high chromium and nickel content in Stainless Steel 310 provide good resistance to aqueous corrosion, making it suitable for use in chemical processing environments.
Stainless Steel 310S is a low-carbon version of Stainless Steel 310, making it suitable for applications where sensitization and subsequent corrosion by high-temperature gases or condensates is a concern. It also offers excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation in the presence of elevated temperatures.
Both grades of stainless steel are highly malleable, making them easy to form and fabricate. They have excellent weldability and can be welded using all common welding methods. Additionally, they have good machinability and can be machined to tight tolerances using conventional machine tools. In terms of mechanical properties, Stainless Steel 310/310S socket weld fittings offer excellent tensile strength and toughness, making them ideal for use in applications with high stress and pressure.
